Hello. I apologize for the late reply.
I am considering contacting you via snail mail. I find email a bit intimidating. However, after reading the safety tips on this site, I feel that things have changed a lot compared to the past. It seems that there are many scams these days. In the past, you could immediately confirm the physical address of the other person, but now it says to be careful about that as well.

As I mentioned in my profile, I am looking for someone to share stories about their life and mine through pen pals. Personally, I enjoy hearing about other people's lives and experiences.

To briefly introduce myself, I was born in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and after living in various places within the country for a while, I have been working and living in Seoul ever since. I have a family and a job, and I lead a fairly ordinary life.
When I was young, the most fascinating thing to me was a personal computer, so I was very interested in it. However, these days, I've started investing in American companies as a hobby (it's truly just a hobbyโ€”I wouldn't recommend it to others, and I have no intention of suggesting it to you either) and collecting commemorative coins sold by the Bank of Korea. I'm not the type to stick with one hobby for a long time, so I've tried many things but haven't stuck with any of them. I might give up on this one too in a few years.
Can you tell me a little about yourself and your hobbies? I don't visit this site often, so it might take me a while to respond.
Have a good day.

Hello Renge99, (you didn't tell me your name ๐Ÿ˜Š)
Great to hear from you. A pleasure to meet you in this digital world.
Yes, let's change as fast as possible to the Postal way.
The scam detection on GPF seems to be a real thing. Well, I am also a real Person.
I Like to write real letters as much as you and I have had penfriends for many years. In COVID times some decided not to write any more. A time we all needed the contacts most. But that's the way it goes.
I also collect coins. From the period of the Emperors from 1871 in Germany and Prussia.
But I am not so active. It's like you said. Sometimes you spend more time for such things, sometimes less. Think it's ok. You always do it with fun, or let it be. The coins you collect would be the Investment coins you could collect, made from gold or silver (?!).

Well, I am a 54 years old Jurist, working for my country as an official. It describes it best. No judge, No real advocate. Can explain it in a Letterโ€ฆbetter ๐Ÿ˜Š(a poem)
I am happily married with my wife Christiane since 26 years.
My Hobbys are versatile. It focusses actually on old traditional Boardgames, their gameplay and their History.
Also on reading the Perry Rhodan Science Fiction series. This could be my lifetime Project.
I teach myself the Game of Go, you call it Baduk over there. I am on a very beginners Level. A little Kid in school would beat my Game. I shouldnt call it a Game. I am in the beginning. Maybe also a lifetime Project, haha.

For my Sports activities I do my Qi Gong exercises as often as possible. It's likewise with my Meditation.
I joined an Aquajogging group weekly lately, but it ended after half a year. Looking for a new one actually. Additional I try to go swimming once a week for about 1000 metres and do walks or hikes in Nature.

Well, it should give you an overwiev about me. Maybe, it sounds a little boring.
But I am a down to earth Person, average and honest. You can expect respectful conversation and a long lasting friendship.
If you like to start (and as a sign of trust) I send you my Snail Mail Adress now. But I also can start writing If you prefer. I am open and flexible. Just send me your adress and tell me, you would like me to start. No Problem ๐Ÿ˜Š

Here is my adress:
Dieter Molzahn
Seeadlerweg 3

Haha, hope my Account will not be deleted now. ๐Ÿ˜Š No, I don't worry about it actually.
Best wishes.
Dieter

Dear Dieter Molzahn

Hello!

I'm sorry it took me so long to write to you, although I had been planning to do so immediately after receiving your address.
Thank you for giving me an address in such a short period of time.

When I plan to write a letter, I find that there is no letter paper or envelope in my desk drawer. So I urgently ordered some. I feel that things have changed over the last 15 years. I heard that the amount of postage had gradually decreased, prompting the post office to focus more on logistics than postage delivery. I feel my desk has undergone a similar transformation.

ย

Now, I would like to introduce myself formally.
My name is Kyung-Tak Yoo. 'Kyung-tak' is my first name and 'Yoo' is my surname. 'Kyung-tak' is pronounced 'ky
สŒล‹ tak'.
I was born in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and have lived in this city for most of my life, except during my time at university and while I was doing my military service. I lived in the suburbs for about ten years and, when I finished my military service, I settled in this city and got married.

I now work in a hospital and practise surgery. I have worked at this hospital for 16 years. The job of a medical doctor is the same everywhere in the world, and people can easily imagine what they do, so it's quite easy to explain my work. :)

I have a wife and a daughter who turned 15 this year. Although time goes very slowly, I feel it has gone so fast, and she will be a university student in 4 or 5 years.

ย

I am not an extroverted person. I don't usually say anything unless I need to, and I don't often go outside to see people. When I was a university student, I exercised a lot, but now I rarely go outside except to help my wife with her hobbies or for a constitutional. I know it's not good for my health, but I prefer being at home.
A few years ago, I practised the Western bow. I found it very interesting and it suited me, but the teacher strongly urged me to buy a personal bow, so I quit. The problem is that there is only one place to learn archery in Seoul, so I gave up completely. I still regret this decision to this day.

After giving up archery, I started taking up astrophotography. I did this for about four years, but then I quit for several reasons and started collecting coins and making investments.

Of course, although I say I collect coins, I don't have the same passion for it as others. I just buy a mint set and some commemorative silver coins every year. I didn't recognise this when the coin was so common, but I think it's like a small work of art when I see it. The only thing I regret is that I cannot touch and feel it with my own hands because I heard that it rusts easily. As you know, silver coins rust quickly in the air, and general coins also rust little by little. So I think I will buy a magnifying glass in the near future.

ย

I started investing because I want to retire five years earlier than others. I decided to do this because I feel severe stress at work, but I realised that investing is more fun than I expected, so it became a kind of hobby for me.
I mainly invest in bonds or stocks, but I don't feel stressed when I do this because, to me, the money is like digital money in a game, not real money. It is also joyful when I make predictions about the future โ€” to me, it's like a prediction game.

ย

Come to think of it, a journey is the best thing for a hobby because it leaves a lasting impression and we experience various things along the way. Meeting new environments and cultures is always a joyful experience, I think.
Personally, I would like to go to the Caucasus or Central Asia, but there is not enough time. I've become busier lately, and taking a break from work for over 10 days is impossible in Korea.
For this reason, I think I want to retire a little earlier than others. :)

I will end this letter here. It seems to have become longer than I expected as I was writing it.

I wish you good health and a pleasant day.

ย

Sincerely

Kyung-tak, Yoo

Thank you for providing your address. I have finished writing the letter today. It has been a long time since I have written in English, so it took me a while.
I plan to send it by mail tomorrow if possible. Have a pleasant day. :)

RCV 03

Hi,
No need to say sorry. We are all busy and English isn't our mothers language. Not for you and not for me. So all is fine...๐Ÿ˜Š
Great to hear, you want to catch up with physical Letters. So I look forward very much to our great talks.
Let's try to create a friendship.
Cheers and have a great week๐Ÿ˜Š
Dieter

Hello Dieter,
Thank you for letting me know that you received my letter.
You can take your time replying. I prefer snail mail because it reduces the pressure of having to reply. However, I was very happy to hear from you since it was your first letter. These days, people rarely send physical letters, so the post office clerk was a little confused. That's why I was a little worried that your letter would arrive safely.ย
Please take your time to reply when you have the chance, and have a wonderful day today.
