You found a very nice paper for your letter.
I sometimes have the same problem with my writing paper and create something new to print it out. Haha, great to have a printer at work.
You are right. The Postal Services changed so much over the last years. It all takes much longer as letter writing is not common any more. Thanks to E-Mails and social Media… I expect a Postal delivery to you from about 2-3 weeks, like the delivering time from Korea to me.

Well. I already told a little about me, but repeat some things here.
I am married since 26 years with my wife Christiane. Her son from a former life is married and made us to Grandparents already.

I work as a Jurist for my country since 1987. As an official I had many administrative things to do. For example: Public procurements to buy infrastructural Software for our Authorities, leading Investigation groups or being part of them to prevent against terroristical activities after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in USA. In Germany we faced many actions also. My activities always focused on German behaviors and needs.
For a couple of time I worked for different Authorities, sometimes as stuff and did judgemental things (various divisions), sometimes in leading and administrative positions. You see, it's very versatile.
Actually I took back from many responsibilities, shorten my efforts and do a part time job, mostly judgemental things again. I decide about Lawyers costs in their cases and who has to pay (boring). Additional I have some administrative things to do. Think I will do that the next 9 years, till I retire. My plan is to retire aged 63. I was born at May, 1st 1971. (do you want to tell me your Birthday too? -so I am able to say Hi 😊).
You also plan to retire early. Think it is a great plan. Do you know about the FIRE concepts and it's Community? FIRE means Financial Independence, Retire Early. There are many concepts about it on the market how to reach that goal. So many people can find some Tipps for their lifes. Maybe it helps your planning also (...?).

As you, I’m an active Investor. But I prefer the ETF Market and Invest into ETFs, focussed on Dividend stocks. The ETF's distributed dividends are reinvested by myself. I could buy accumulated ETFs but I prefer to structure my Portfolio that way.
For me it is a fun Project also.

With the coins it goes likewise. Fun in focus. I like to collect some coins out of my pocket and put them away. So I have something physical to touch. These are 2€ coins with Special themes. So I always have a meaning to the minted face or building or anniversary.
About the “financial” coins from the mint, you collect. You should not change anything from that Investors thinking. The rust, or a Kind of Patina could cost you Money, when selling. That's why I don't like to collect them so much.
This used coins I collect, have their own Patina and feel more real to me. -Can’t explain better, but I think you know what I mean. 😊

As far as I am a guy like you, who likes to do things at home, I also do my Qi Gong and Meditation exercises at home. I use a Balance Board and TheraBands also at home.
Well, there is no pool in our Appartement, so I have to drive to the public pool to swim😊 I try to do something (one thing) of these activities every day. But I am not a good Sports guy or very fit. Just an average man with too much on his bellys, haha. Will send you a photo next time, just have none on Hand.

Maybe as a surgeon (are you Specialized to some kind of surgeries?), you have to stand relatively still a couple of hours a day. So it may count as your Sports Programme. Do you know the Zhang zhuan (Standing Like a tree) exercises? I like to practice them as often as possible.
You told about your archery experiences. I also thought about it a couple of years ago. But never tried it out. There is a Club about 500 metres away from my Home. But I also thought about the costs of Equipment, as you.
The astrophotography is very special and I never thought about it. Think it is a very difficult, expensive and technical Hobby. And I have no real knowledge about it.
But it’s interesting where you went along with your Hobbys.

I like to combine playing classical ancient Games with exploring their history and how they did spread around the world. In my Holidays we were in Denmark where I liked to see an old Game Board (Daldosa) in a Museum. But it wasn’t in the exhibition. Asking the Curator, he wasn’t able to show us, cause it was packed into their cellar rooms. We talked about it and how this game got lost for the Dansk people. There was no interest into it from younger people any more…. A game for old people…, no new game… etc.
Well. Today it would die also, cause it has no USB Port. But for me these things are fascinating.
Haha. Did I tell you that I am boring?...Well, I am boring…😊

You told about your Holidays. Just 10 days for holiday are not much. Then you don't have much time in your Hand for relaxation. Caucasus or Central Asia seem to be a good Option. Shorter travel time, longer relaxing.
It makes sense as you told about your early retirement.
The Job exhausted me also, that's why I took a part time Option for me.

Thinking about the Holiday Options for you, New Zealand, Japan and Australia came into my mind. Maybe also a Cruise to Antarctic regions or the Great Barrier Reef… What do you think about These Options? I don't know how easy or expensive it would be for you to book some of these Vacations. You know, some regions make good offers, some don't .
From the German tourists Point of view, I could book an offer to Mallorca (Spain) for small Money all the time. Hotel, breakfast and dinner, Flight, Shuttle to Hotel and Back to Airport inclusive. Thousands of German people travel there every year. But maybe Australia and Korea don't have this connection or Flight plans to each other. Please tell me, it would be interesting to learn for me.

Haha. Time to tell you, I never in my Life was on an Airplane. Believe it or not. It's true. I never had a need to use an Airplane. Our travels across Europe we mostly did by Car. Sometimes by Bus or Train. It depends what offer we found.
But it never made sense to us to think about an Airplane.
We visited so many places or Towns in different countries.
To Denmark we did a ride for about 10 hours with our Car. Made some rests for relaxing and once for fuel.
To get to Cologne Airport it would take us at least 40 Minutes and Check-in is an hour before. So the 2 hours are lost. The Flight takes about 1 hours 30 Minutes and to get the suitcase about 45 Minutes. Then we would need a Car and go to the rental Service and get it. Again about 30 Minutes.
So we have 4:45 hours for being in Kopenhagen. But we now have to take a 5 hours drive through Denmark to come to Ferring. And we have to buy all the things we need to have in the Summer House we rented. So we have to buy it all, we already have at Home. It's the salt, the oil, the food, all this things you get on a breakfast or dinner table in a Hotel (as you find in Kopenhagen). But in this area is no Hotel. You can divide this country into 2 Sections. Kopenhagen and “real” Denmark. It is likewise in Sweden, Norway, Finnland. If you like to see the country and meet the real people, you don't find Hotels. In these cultures the people have Summer Houses, you can rent.
We like the friendly scandinavian people. And where they have built their Summer Houses it's nice, close to the waterfront and nature. But you find many small Museums or exhibitions. And you always find friendly or helpful people to talk. You see, we are Fans from Denmark. 😊

But I also see, we both are on a very similar way in many things. It feels great to talk to you. That was in my mind from your first answer. That's why I have sent you my address that fast. It feels matching. 😊

맞아요. 우편 서비스가 지난 몇 년간 많이 바뀌었어요. 편지 쓰기가 흔하지 않아서 모든 게 훨씬 오래 걸리네요. 이메일과 소셜 미디어 덕분이지요… 한국에서 제게 오는 배송 시간처럼, 당신에게 우편물이 도착하는 데 2~3주 정도 걸릴 거라고 예상해요.

음. 제 이야기는 조금 했었지만, 여기서 몇 가지를 다시 말씀드리죠.
저는 아내 크리스티안과 결혼한 지 26년이 되었습니다. 그녀가 이전 결혼에서 낳은 아들은 결혼해서 저희를 이미 할아버지, 할머니로 만들어주었죠.

저는 1987년부터 국가를 위해 법률가로 일해 왔습니다. 공무원으로서 다양한 행정 업무를 수행했습니다. 예를 들어: 당국을 위한 인프라 소프트웨어 구매를 위한 공공 조달, 수사팀을 이끌거나 그 일원으로 참여하여 미국 9/11 테러 공격 이후 테러 활동을 방지하는 일 등이 있었습니다. 독일에서도 많은 사건을 겪었습니다. 제 활동은 항상 독일의 행동 양식과 필요에 초점을 맞췄습니다.
여러 기관에서 근무한 경험이 있습니다. 때로는 직원으로 근무하며 다양한 부서에서 심판 업무를 수행했고, 때로는 관리직이나 행정직을 맡기도 했습니다. 보시다시피 매우 다채로운 경력입니다.
현재는 많은 책임을 내려놓고 업무량을 줄여 파트타임으로 근무 중입니다. 주로 다시 심판 업무를 맡고 있는데, 사건별 변호사 비용을 결정하고 누가 부담할지 판단하는 일입니다(지루하죠). 추가로 몇 가지 행정 업무도 수행합니다. 은퇴할 때까지 앞으로 9년간 이 일을 계속할 것 같습니다. 제 계획은 63세에 은퇴하는 거예요. 저는 1971년 5월 1일에 태어났습니다. (혹시 생일도 알려주실래요? 그럼 인사드릴 수 있거든요 😊).

당신처럼 저도 적극적인 투자자입니다. 하지만 저는 ETF 시장에 집중하며 배당주 중심의 ETF에 투자합니다. ETF가 분배하는 배당금은 제가 직접 재투자하죠. 적립식 ETF를 살 수도 있지만, 저는 포트폴리오를 이렇게 구성하는 걸 선호합니다.
저에게는 재미있는 프로젝트이기도 하죠.

동전 수집도 마찬가지입니다. 재미를 중심으로 합니다. 주머니에서 동전을 꺼내 모으고 보관하는 걸 좋아합니다. 그래서 만질 수 있는 실물 자산이 생기죠. 특별 테마가 있는 2유로 동전들입니다. 그래서 주조된 얼굴이나 건물, 기념일에 항상 의미가 있습니다.
조폐국에서 발행하는 '금융용' 동전은 수집용입니다. 투자자 관점에서는 절대 손대지 말아야 합니다. 녹이나 일종의 패티나가 생기면 매각 시 손해를 볼 수 있거든요. 그래서 저는 그런 동전을 별로 수집하지 않습니다.
제가 모으는 이 중고 동전들은 고유의 패티나가 있어 제게 더 실감 나게 느껴집니다. -더 잘 설명할 수 없지만, 무슨 뜻인지 아시겠죠? 😊

저 역시 집에서 하는 걸 좋아하는 사람이라, 집에서 기공과 명상도 합니다. 밸런스 보드와 테라밴드도 집에서 사용하죠.
아파트에 수영장이 없어서 공중수영장까지 차를 타고 가야 해요 😊 매일 이 활동들 중 하나는 꼭 하려고 노력합니다. 하지만 운동을 잘하거나 체력이 좋은 편은 아니에요. 배에 살이 좀 많이 찐 평범한 남자일 뿐이에요, 하하. 다음에 사진 보내드릴게요, 지금 당장은 없네요.

외과의사(어떤 수술을 전문으로 하시나요?)로서 하루에 몇 시간은 비교적 가만히 서 있어야 하니까, 그게 운동 프로그램으로 인정될 수도 있겠네요. 장전(나무처럼 서기) 운동 아시나요? 저는 가능한 한 자주 연습하는 걸 좋아합니다.
궁술 경험에 대해 말씀하셨는데, 저도 몇 년 전에 생각해봤어요. 하지만 시도해보진 못했죠. 집에서 500미터 정도 떨어진 곳에 클럽이 있긴 한데, 장비 비용이 부담스러웠거든요. 당신도 그랬을 거예요.
천체 사진 촬영은 정말 특별하네요. 전혀 생각해본 적 없어요. 아주 어렵고 비싸며 기술적인 취미인 것 같아요. 게다가 저는 그 분야에 대해 아는 게 전혀 없어요.
하지만 네가 취미로 걸어온 길이 흥미롭네.

저는 고대 고전 게임을 즐기면서 그 역사와 세계적 확산 과정을 탐구하는 걸 좋아해요. 휴가 때 덴마크에 갔을 때 박물관에서 고대 게임판(달도사)을 보고 싶었는데 전시되어 있지 않았어요. 큐레이터에게 물으니 지하실에 보관 중이라 보여주지 못하더군요. 우리는 이 게임이 덴마크 사람들에게 어떻게 잊혀졌는지 이야기했어요. 젊은 세대들은 더 이상 관심이 없더군요… 노인들 게임이라거나, 새로운 게임이 아니라는 등…
음. 오늘날에도 사라졌을 거예요, USB 포트가 없으니까요. 하지만 저에게는 이런 것들이 매혹적이랍니다.
하하. 제가 지루한 사람이라고 말했었나요?… 음, 저는 지루한 사람이에요…😊

휴가 얘긴 했지. 10일 휴가는 정말 짧아. 여유롭게 쉴 시간이 별로 없잖아. 코카서스나 중앙아시아가 괜찮을 것 같아. 이동 시간은 짧고 휴식 시간은 길잖아.
조기 은퇴 얘긴 했으니 말이 되네.
나도 그 일에 지쳐서 파트타임으로 전환했거든.

네 휴가지를 생각하다 보니 뉴질랜드, 일본, 호주가 떠올랐어. 남극 지역이나 그레이트 배리어 리프로 가는 크루즈도 괜찮을 것 같고… 이 옵션들 어때? 이런 휴가들을 예약하는 게 얼마나 쉽고 비쌀지 모르겠네. 알다시피 지역마다 좋은 제안이 있는 곳도 있고 없는 곳도 있으니까.
독일 관광객 입장에서 보면, 마요르카(스페인)로 가는 저렴한 패키지를 항상 예약할 수 있었어. 호텔, 아침·저녁 식사, 항공권, 호텔 셔틀, 공항 왕복까지 다 포함된 거지. 매년 수천 명의 독일인이 그곳을 찾아. 하지만 호주와 한국은 이런 연결편이나 항공 노선이 없을 수도 있겠네. 알려줘, 나한테도 궁금한 점이니까.

하하. 이제 고백할게요, 저는 평생 비행기를 타본 적이 없어요. 믿거나 말거나, 사실이에요. 비행기를 탈 필요가 전혀 없었거든요. 유럽 여행은 대부분 차로 다녔어요. 가끔 버스나 기차를 이용하기도 했지만, 그건 우리가 찾은 상품에 따라 달랐죠.
하지만 비행기를 고려해볼 필요가 전혀 없었어요.
우리는 여러 나라의 수많은 장소와 도시를 방문했거든요.
덴마크까지는 차로 약 10시간 걸렸어. 휴식도 취하고, 한 번은 연료도 보충했지.
쾰른 공항까지 가려면 최소 40분은 걸리고, 체크인은 1시간 전에 해야 해. 그러면 2시간은 날아가는 거야. 비행 시간은 약 1시간 30분이고, 수하물 찾는 데 45분 정도 걸려. 그다음엔 차가 필요해서 렌터카 서비스로 가서 차를 빌려야 해. 이것도 약 30분 소요됩니다.
결국 코펜하겐에 머무를 수 있는 시간은 4시간 45분입니다. 하지만 이제 페링까지 덴마크를 가로질러 5시간 동안 운전해야 합니다. 게다가 우리가 빌린 여름 별장에서 필요한 모든 물품을 사야 합니다. 그래서 집에 있는 것들을 모두 사야 합니다. 소금, 기름, 음식 등 호텔(코펜하겐에서 볼 수 있는) 아침이나 저녁 식탁에 올라오는 모든 것들 말이죠. 하지만 이 지역에는 호텔이 없습니다. 이 나라를 두 구역으로 나눌 수 있습니다. 코펜하겐과 '진짜' 덴마크. 스웨덴, 노르웨이, 핀란드도 마찬가지입니다. 진짜 나라를 보고 진짜 사람들을 만나고 싶다면 호텔은 찾기 어렵습니다. 이런 문화권에서는 사람들이 여름 별장을 가지고 있어서 빌릴 수 있죠.
우리는 친근한 스칸디나비아 사람들을 좋아합니다. 그들이 여름 별장을 지은 곳은 물가와 자연에 가까워서 좋습니다. 그리고 작은 박물관이나 전시회도 많이 찾을 수 있죠. 항상 친절하거나 도움을 주는 사람들과 이야기할 수 있습니다. 보시다시피, 우리는 덴마크의 팬입니다. 😊

하지만 우리 둘이 많은 면에서 매우 비슷한 길을 걷고 있다는 것도 느껴져요. 당신과 이야기하는 게 정말 기뻐요. 첫 답변부터 그런 생각이 들었거든요. 그래서 제 주소를 그렇게 빨리 보낸 거예요. 마음이 통하는 것 같아요. 😊
